Antique Edwardian three stone garnet ring set in 9ct yellow gold. This fabulous ring is highly ornate. The three garnet have a closed back surrounded by four seed pearls. On the side of the shank there is detailed engravings.
The ring would have had a number of hallmarks but as gold is gold over 100 years the hallmarks have worn away. The only remaining mark is the letter 'D' indicating the year it was hallmarked. From the letter we can also deduce the piece was made in 1912
Garnets were used extensively in all different designs of Victorian / Edwardian jewellery, bracelets, rings, brooches and elaborate necklaces, they represent the birthstone of January.
